I've had my s for like a month or so and ever since i went over the 600 mile mark, ive been dying to get a race in, but all of a sudden no one is around . So one night on my way home from school on 208 i come around a bend and what do i see?? A Boxster and a Carrera(think i spelled that right). .
I come up behind them at like 55mph in 4th gear, I go to downshift to 3rd and i say "where did the Carrera go, I mean he was out, thing is fast as hell, so at this point at take off with the Boxster to about 95mph and had about 2 car lengths on him, I slow up to merge onto another highway, and there he beside me again, it was a young dude with his chick in the car, so I look at him and motion to go at it again and what does he do......he shakes his head no I mean come on, you pay all that money for a car, get beat once and then say no to a race, WTF. Wont anyone have any fun with me . The moral of the story is Carreras are fast as hell, and dont spend 50gs on a car like the Boxster. I knew we could run with them but i didnt know like this

My grilfriend SCREAMS when the speedo gets over 80. SO I could see why this guy wasn't in a hurry to race you.

80? wow, my girlfriend screams whenever I go above 6000 rpm. Regardless of speed.

Porsche has Vario Cam Plus, which is their version of a VTEC. This year, the new Boxsters will have about 225hp and slightly better acceleration. I really thought Porsche made a mistake by not incresing the horsepower to 280+ for the Boxster S, and 240+ for the Boxster now that the BMW has the M roadster, and the SLK has the AMG. I have a 911 because I did not think the Boxster S would have been a very big step up from my modded SLK 230 (Previous car).

 

nice, yeah, the carrera will give you some trouble, but the boxsters suck, like you said, waste of $$$.

I have a video from before the S2000's came to the us, a guy had a S2000 on the highway in japan and sucked up a boxster, pretty funny.
