MY00 S2000 vs. LT1 Firebird Formula
My friends and I were talking about cars last night at my school, and they mentioned one of their friends who had an LT1 Firebird, and they said it would beat my car pretty badly. Ive never turned down a race so i said i'd race him. So skip some bs, and we're on the highway, im alone in my car with just an intake, and he's alone in his car. His car is 6 speed, 350 (of course) and has i/e, chip and its lowered (not that it really matters if its lowered). So we start from a 2nd gear roll (im at about 6500) and we go about 3-4 different times with the same scenario each time. We would start, and it would be dead even for about 4 seconds until he would start slightly pulling. By about 120 my front bumper would be at his back bumper. He was pretty surprised because before the race he was talking to his friends (when i wasnt there) and he said that if i was telling the truth about what i had, he'd kill me, and he didnt. And right after that, an LS1 Camaro saw us toying around and so me and him went at it. Needless to say, i lost to him by about 3 car lengths by 120, but i expected that. Overall not a bad night for the S2k even though i lost both races...i expected worse losses.

depends on what kind of intake/exhaust. If he had a simple catback and intake then he isnt gaining much there. If he is running long tube headers and a full exhaust then those will net some serious gains. As for the chip, I dont believe it since you have to tune these pcm's with some sort of program or tuning module. Should be a good run nonetheless and it seems that it was from the results.

He might just have a K&N filter in stock replacement? Intake in the LT1 world mod to most is a CAI (cold air kit). Exhaust is typically a different muffler.
Now if he had a chip, not a tune, then he would have had a 93 LT1, which were speed density cars...and from my experience, they were pretty strong.
A half way decent driven 93 LT1 M6(or auto, it does not matter), in decent running condition is a high 13 second car@101-102 mph.
But anything can happen on the street.
