Default MY00' vs 350Z

i was drivin last night with the top down and a buddy. we were lookin for a race and lucky us we found one. a 350Z on black rims was exiting the parking lot so i followed him and we came to a light. we started talking (well, me and the passenger of the Z did) and he said his car has "some stuff done to it." i came out and said my car is basically stock (intake only). he thought i was lowered which made me feel good. so he says "u wanna see what happens" and i'm like "yea sure." so the light turns and we mash it, no launches. of course, before vtec i'm crawling and he's inching ahead, but as soon as vtec hits (like a freakin T-Rex) i pulled back and beyond. i hear him shift into second as he's falling behind my mirror and i'm still climbing the mountain. i shift into second, with him prolly at my rear wheel, and then he gives up. i think the dramatic vtec engagement frightened them. we cruise on the two lane road for a while, him trailing, then me, at one point we tried a quick pulling contest and i won. then we waved and went our separate ways.

yeah down low a stock S2000 has the advantage over the 350Z. the S2000's gearing apparently is the key.

if he had kept going he'd have pulled back and possibly beaten you depending on when you guys shut down.

good kill

i know i have a gear advantage but i didn't expect to pull that easily. i've raced an I/E Z and he pulled on me like i pulled on this guy. i just thought it'd be a little harder. mabye he was slower than stock cuz his rims had a chrome deep dish lip.

Rims would have done it if they were 19's or higher... other than that, No. If you beat him like that even after starting from a 1,000 rpms in the s2000 from a rolling start, then I'd have to say that he wasn't that good of a driver. My 350z will pull 1+ car on my s2000 by the time I hit VTEC in my s2000. It would take you all of 2nd gear to get in front of him like you did, possible you won't get in front of him at all after something like that if the driver was good. So, sorry but, you got a sucky Z owner... OR IT WAS AUTOMATIC
