A friend of mine has been driving an 02 or 03 (sorry I can't remember) SLK 320 for a couple months now and he's learned to launch and drive it really well. We've never raced because I know the S2 is faster and there isn't much of a point but tonight I get a call from him at a local spot people race. He told me to come down there and he'd give me a good race because he just raced our other friend's Formula (runs consistent 14.1's).

I really didn't want to because it was chilly tonight and it rained here all day so I knew traction wouldn't be the greatest but I agreed to race him from a roll. We went from 27mph the first time and I put 2 car lengths on him immediately then kept pulling until about 115. We then turned around and went again from 22mph and this time it was a little closer for him in the beginning but I pulled away nicely.
We went back to the spot where everyone else was hanging out and they immediately started giving me trouble about insisting on racing from a roll and how that must mean I can't drive. I just laughed and said alright lets go again from a stop.

We lined up 3-2-1 I launched from 6000rpm with PLENTY of wheel spin. I ripped into second and looked over and I could see headlights I shifted into third and got a nice scratch and continued to pull all the way up to about 100 when I shut down. We went back and my friend (the other driver) said I won by about 1 or 2 cars (I thought ya right maybe after I braked). .. No one really had anything much more to say. I thought I would get a challenge from the Formula but everyone just decided to go home. All in all, it was about what I expected.
