Default MY01 s2k vs Integra Turbo'd

Sitting at a stoplight on the cellphone i see an Integra pull up behind me. I could tell it was hooked up because I could hear the exhaust, but suspected nothing else. I get off the phone because he was revving up behind me so I knew it was time for a race. Light turns green and Im on it casually and then he gets in the other lane to try and pass me. It was then that I noticed the front mounted intercooler, the sound of the turbo spooling up (had to be a nice sized one because it was loud) and the BOV was noticeable. I probably should have dropped from whatever gear was in to a lower gear but I didnt and he got me. The next light went to yellow and he kept going so I couldnt run him again or find out what all he did to it. I was pissed, I got caught off guard big time, but thats street racing for ya. I dont know what kind of Intergra it was, be it GSR or ITR.

Not to flame but chances are, he would have rapped you anyhow, wether you were ready or not.

Turbo Integras accellrate quite fast. If you can drive your car, you should be able to out launch a Turbo Integra but unless your boosted, the Teg will pull hard up top.

You're probably right, initially i got him on the start but once the turbo was spooled up, it was over.

i beg to differ... my friend has an eg hatch with a turbo ls swap. he is currently running 7lbs with a greddy 16g. He also has a stage 3 clutch, flywheel, and apexi n1 catback.

i pull on him pretty well... it's a steady pull. his car is not pieced together either, it's done right.

then again, everyone has their own opinions. i'm sure if it was a turbo b18c5 or b18c1 then it would have got ya, but who knows. it would have been a good run.

turbo tegs do pull hard up top though...

you pointed out what his problem is.
that turbo is way too small for him to be making any type of descent power. i've had some experience with that particular turbo and i would ditch it in a heartbeat and get a bigger one. the nice thing about it is that the kit it comes in is smog legal.

i know. he called me right after he bought it and i told him he made a mistake buying the 16g. he said "he didn't care." I told him "don't say i told ya so later on."

Yea, i just had the feeling if i would have dropped into 2nd gear instead of entering vtec in 3rd at 6k I would have got the jump on him.... he probably would have run me down, but unless I catch him out again, well never really know.

I was just going to mention this... Turbo LS isn't quick at all. Now ls / vtec - turbo watch out. Difference is the LS doesn't have the pull to redline the GSR's and ITR's have.
