Wednesday night was a local sportscar gathering that I attended. Not much was happening so after an hour I headed home. Several miles from the meet I ended up in a double left turn lane with a new Boxster S next to me. He was a middle aged guy with what appeared to be a pretty lady. I had my top down and he had it top up. I wasn't expecting anything to happen since he had the lady with him. I didn't give him any reason to think I would participate in a speed contest. Well, I did touch the gas once before starting out but it was only a little blip just prior to the clutch engagement.
I was in the inside lane and he was in the outside lane. The light turned green and I eased out and short shifted second. I could hear him getting on it a little in the corner and wondered if he would try something. I shortshifted third and started a windup to listen to my exhaust. The Amuse duals were just starting to sing at about 4000 rpm when he went by me at full throttle. I glanced over as he went by and he was looking at me with a big grin.
I figured he was showing off his hot sportscar to his female passenger.
This was not going to be a fair race and I love to do it. Driving a 400hp sleeper is so much fun with all the Porsches and Ferraris around here. I never seem to get tired of it.
I floored the gas and was in Vtec immediately. As I passed him the exhaust continued to sing with an ever increasing pitch. I wound it out in third to 95 mph and shut down. He was back about 8 car lengths.
At the next light I was in the left turn lane and he pulled up next to me and reved a couple times. I watched him as he was looking the S over like he had no idea what it was.
Since I am debadged he may not have known what it was. If he was familiar with the S, he was probably having trouble understanding how a 2 liter 240hp Honda could run away so quickly.
The light turned green and he burned his tires across the intersection in a show of bravado.
I don't know if he was trying to salvage his ego or trying to impress me. Little did he know.... I wasn't impressed.

Sideways I want your car! LOL I would seriously pay money for you to video record your encounters where you destroy people that think they are faster! I love it!
Do you have any videos of your car, so I can see and hear the beast?

That's awesome Sideways. I wish I had a sleeper S, but I'll have to limit myself to killing integras and civics etc... for now not boxter S'
. Take it easy, and I second the video idea, although it might be hard to get the footage.
Well, take it easy,

I only call bs on one part of the story. My S looks stock too....but I promise when someone is beside me it doesn't sound anything like sleeper unless they are stupid. They know....and Sideways you should also know that it is so much louder than a Vortech running base psi.
