Same stretch of road that I took out a 330 and same situation. Both at a stop light to turn left, pull away normally and then hear that the dude, wife, and a kid in the back wants to play. He did a fly by, I pulled along side and motion "lets go". Then it was on, vtec 3rd gear even, >7500 rpm Sayonara

At the next light he was behind and there was a motorcycle guy to the right of us. We took off, I move to the right lane for him to get beside me again and we're off, vtec 2nd, vtec 3rd, pretty even, >7500 rpm Sayonara I had to slow down since I was coming up on the motorcycle.

3rd time, he was weaving in and out still trying to prove he has some juice. I pulled beside again and then off for the 3rd time. Same old story 3rd gear >7500 Sayonara I waved seeya later and enjoyed the rest of the night cruise.

It was a good run, those sedans have some punch but pretty similar to the 330ci. However, stories about Maximas beating the S, like in the thread https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...25&pagenumber=1

BTW, I had my top down, 3/4 gas
He had 3 passengers, wife was and kid was
still racing with your family

I'll start by saying that anything can happend on the streets.

Second, I have been shotgun with my friend. His 6-speed, 2003, Maxima SE with K&N filter against TWO different S2000 and he has beat them both. Not a slaughter or bus lengths but in the end he had the edge. They are no slouches. Not performance monsters but anything under 110mph they can hold thier own. And racing with your family is a given loss...

He went for it...you beat him, good kill.

way to teach that doode a lesson.........

but I'll have to agree with Throw Down on this....

You should have been the more mature individual, and just let that maxima do its thing.......seriously........

Maybe we all can learn something from this....

I guess you guys are right, I hope his wife had a few choice words for him. He should have bough a G35 Coupe or 350Z if he wanted to race with a VQ35.

I don't think S owners should be afraid of any stinking Maxima, stock for stock the S has the advantage.

Either of those 3 cars are not to be taken lightly. My brother's '00 Maxima SE puts up a good fight, as does my mom's '03 G35 sedan. The 350Z Track we had for a few days did, in fact, have the edge over the S2000 as the speeds picked up. Point is: If you don't drive 100% WOT, or if you miss a gear or have a shitty launch, you will be seeing Nissan taillights.

That would happen in almost any race.
