Default Night at the track.

OK so I'm at work with a buddy of mine at Toyota of Santa Monica, and I say f- this it's wensday night and palmdale is open. ( For those that don't know palmdale, it's always amazingly hot, and the air there suxs because it is so thin. Hard to breath, and all cars that go there run about .6-.7 seconds slower then there real time.) Anyway, we left work 2 hours early and drove down to get as many runs as possible before 10:00 pm. Got there at 7:38 pm and once I registered I did my first run.

First run.
MY04 vs. Scion xA(lol, just how we lined up)
Launched at 6k
Ran a 15.020 at 90mph
won by about ten cars.

Second run.
My04 vs. Old model Impreza two door NA
Launched at 3(messed up big time)
Ran 16.010
Won by 2 1/2 cars(would have been atleast 8 if i hadn't messed up the launch.)

Third run.
My04 vs. Modded Del Sol(sounded nice, thought I was ganna get rocked)
Launched at 6.5k
Ran 14.920 at 92
Won by 5 or 6 cars

Fourth run.
My04 vs. New convertible 350Z(I believe he only had a drop.)
Launched at 7k
Ran a 14.880 at 92mph
Won by 6 or 7 cars ( hehehehehehehe)

Fifth run.
My04 vs. 92 Civic hatch NA built(one load biatch)
Launched at 7.2k
Ran a 14.890 at 92mph
Won by 4 or 5 cars

Last run against my buddy with a 98 integra gs-r
Mods include: Exhaust, intake, headers, straight pipe, clutch, flywheel, springs, msd ignition, and ofcourse his 70 shot NOS.
His best run was a 14.550 at 96mph
My04 vs. 98 GS-R
Launched at 7.5k (Burned lots of tire this time)
Ran a 15.010 at 91mph
Lost ( my front to his back bumper)
Was winning up until the point when he hit the NOS, then I saw my gain stop and his gain begin ...lol.

All and all a good day at the track, we calculated my best times to what was said to get ur normal time. Basically I ran 14.3-14.2. Not bad for my first time.

Oh and as for the ride home. Beat a mustang gt with NOS on the freeway, beat my friends gs-r that beat me on the track, beat a camaro v6, and beat a transam that ran 12's there but guess his top end suxs.
Thankx for reading.

i saw you run. i could have swore you ran a 14.6 maybe mistaken. thats still pretty good considering its 3k ft above sea level . all in good fun though when i went there in my Z a year back i pulled a 14.2 stock. yesterday was pretty bad we had a BPU+ supra running 15.3s so the S did pretty good

At first I thought you listed those as your times. But I still don't know why you chose to list the other cars' times as opposed to your. Oh well!

yesterday was really bad there wasn't it. Kinda got hard to breath after a while. Was the supra a red one? I think I saw it there. What where you driven, if you were?

um... no I didn't post the other drivers time, those were my times. Palmdale is about 3k feet above sea level, and the temp is almost always around 95. But according to the palmdale site, they have it written how to calculate your actual true time. Simply multiplication to figure out what you would normally be running if not for the alttitude or weather.

Man hows your differntial and clutch? After launching that high is it still ok

Good runs but try to get her into 14.1-14.2 is what seems to be the nromal first out times. Not sure what that converts into at your track.

As you get better you will see 13s

Differential actually feels fine, that was on my mind the whole time there, but everything is good. And as for what my real times are, it's 14.2-14.3 so I'd say they convert pretty accuretly considering thats what the car is supposed to run. I know I can do better though if I can get my launch down to where I don't spin to much tire.

Nice runs, my only doubt is the Mustang with nitrous and the TA that runs 12's. We all know that most S2K's can beat or stay even with Mustangs, but a Mustang on the bottle is hard to believe. Also a TA that runs 12's at the track is most likely gonna be a monster on the freeway as well. If its a newer TA it would easily smoke an S on the freeway stock.

Oh well, not trying to start a war just my .02 cents.

i understand what you mean, but it was a gt, and my guess is that it may have been something like a 50 shot or so. When we raced I had no clue he had NOS. First race was me, gt, and my buddies gs-r with the 70 shot NOS. Dead even for a while and through some of 5th, and then I started pulling. Then my friend in the gs-r raced him alone and won, they drove side by side and my friend told him he had NOS, and the stang driver said he probably hit it before he did. As for the TA, I have no doubt that one can kick my ass easy from a launch, and I did think that one would beat me top end also , but it might have been that he was not trying because the thing was a monster o n the track.

HvRRZ

I was wondering on your runs what were your 1/8th mile times/et and also what were your 60ft times?

I ran the other night (crappy of me) not shifting to 4th and hitting redline in 3rd at the timer (raised to 7050rpm redline) in my Porsche 944s2

I ran 15.008@92.6mph

60ft___2.186
330ft___6.340
1/8et___9.719
1/8mph___72.81
