Default Not killed story

Well this isn't your average kill story, it's more of a survival story, haha. I was driving home from work today in my Miata on I-75. Traffic was actually flowing fast, everyone was cruising about 90. All the sudden, people started braking hard down to about 20mph. I get on the brakes and instinctively check the mirror to see how the guy behind me is doing.

It quickly became apparent to me that the jacked up F150 behind me A. wasn't paying as much attention as he should have been and B. doesn't brake as well as a Miata. He was still coming fast. I swerved off into the median as the F150 comes flying alongside me, stopping about a foot from the Volvo sedan that was originally in front of me.

As the, ever so courteous, F150 driver politely allows me back onto the road I realize that if he had rearended me the first thing to hit would have been his front bumper and the back of my head. YIKES! Happy to have survived that one. Be careful out there.

Evasive driving FTW!!

I had something like that happening to me back at New Years Eve. I was on my way home and the traffic was flowing pretty fast. Suddenly all the cars in front of me piled up. I was pretty close behind so no time to brake. I swerved right and dodged the bunch. I think one member on the board saw me.

Nice defensive driving. This is one of the reasons why I love our cars and miatas. They can actually save your ass by being able to move around.
