Is it just me or what? On my drive home from work tonight every idiot and his ride tried racing me. What kind of idiot would try and street race on Bellevue Way in front of Bell Square? If I wanted to drag, I would go to SIR or at least pick a neighborhood without a patrol car at every intersection. In order of appearance:

??' Silver Porche Boxster
97ish' Black Toyota Tacoma with 18" of lift (what was this joker thinking?)
89ish' Black and Red Rustang 5.0
93ish' Silver Civic LX riceracer (blue sidemarkers make these cars fast right?)

What is it about a stook that everybody thinks I want to race?

Jerry, get over it, man. I wouldn't have passed up on that Boxster, though. I would've nailed his ass. And I'm sure what they're thinking is... what's that Microsoft dude doing with a car like that and NOT racing me? What a wimp!

Perspective, dude.

I don't get too many races. Maybe it's cuz of all that rap music blaring and they get intimidated.

Yeah, I should try rap music instead of Industrial. People seem to be more intimidated by a gatt that a cat o' nine these days. Besides, nothing about me screams Microsoft other than the fact I am driving home from work at eleven at night. I even wear spiffy black club clothes to work, I don't even look the part. Oh well.

I would've taken on any of those cars, but the point is: who would be stupid enough to race in downtown Bellevue?

Maybe you should take off the bumper sticker that reads, "Will Race for Food"...just a thought.

Maybe it's the glasses and the haircut. Go for the shaved look.

All I know is that no one wanted to race my Ludes or Rexs, and everyone wants to race a Stook. Last Sunday an elder couple in one of those Lexus Convertibles started reving their engine next to me in front of the Bellevue Park and Ride. Its all good. I'll have to take that bumper sticker off though...

There are many threads about this subject, so it seems to be pretty commonplace. It probably annoys some people, but I think it's just an indicator of how much respect and/or interest that the s2k gets. Makes me
If they have a car that's supposed to be slower, they want to see if the s2k lives up to the hype.
If they have a car that's supposed to be faster, they want to put the s2k in it's place (and are often surprised that it's not as easy as they thought it would be, or they fail to do so).ˇ
