Default Must I Race?

I was on my way home, about to turn into the neighborhood (maybe 1/4 of a mile ahead) when a heavily modified wrx raced next to me. immediately he began to harass me with his BOV repeatedly. I'm not sure what most of you would have done, but i did not downshift nor speed up. Especially coming home from work, im tired as hell. I gave him a look, turned back and continued driving casually. I reached my right turn and he also had a red light. I looked over and said "hey, nice car!" but he just looked at me unsatisfied and im not sure but i think i heard "pussy".... wtf?!

anyways, the remainder of the way of home i was thinking, just because i drive this car, am i almost obligated to street race? Even though im 18, i dont follow the stereotype; I rarely street race or drive like a maniac. I would much rather take the spirited driving to the tracks or autox (which i havnt..hopefully soon.)

edit!: how would u have handled this...

(i didn't post this in the street encounters for obvious reasons.)

Ignore these kind of people. They're not worth risking your life for.

usually subie crowd is pretty cool. atleast here in IL, my best friend has decently modded 03 wrx and the people he knows from his meets are real laid back. I guess you will always find the d-bags though. A week a ago a modded sti tried to race me....unfortunately for him i happened to be on my bike so i proceeded to rape him infront of his girlfriend.

but no your not a pussy for not racing, theres a time and place for that, that wasnt it.

I respect people that respect me. Respect is something you earn, and this jacka$$ did not earn your respect.

Heck no to that. There is a time and a place for everything. You are not obligated to do anything you do not want to do, this is America. F that guy I woulda raced him, but that's just me

so... what do you guys think? am i a... "pussy"?

I wouldn't worry at all about ass hats like this.

They usually suffer from low self esteem and use the derogatory terms that they fear the most.

He calls you a pussy because he fears he is a pussy. Usually only picking confrontations that they are almost guaranteed to win.

They deserve no respect and probably are not getting any. That is also part of the problem as they think they are entitled to it and do not know that it has to be earned. They usually hang with others like themselfs so they never learn. They just don't get it.

In Virginia the penalty for getting caught street racing is immediate loss of license, confiscation (not impoundment) of your vehicle, and a court date to see if you can get your car and license back.

IMO it is not worth it to see who has the bigger johnson.

I just ignore people who pull up next to me trying to push me into a race. Typically they are Neons or Mustangs in this area. The import scene was shaken up by a major street racing bust not long ago, and since then no import has messed with me.

My next car is going to be a Cayman S, and that seems to draw more attention than a modded M3 so I'm making a sign that says "You Win" to hold up when someone tries to mess with me.

YES!

I just laugh whenever someone "revs" on me, in either the S or my Integra.

Just ignore the idiots, I don't even bother looking at them nor will I complement them on their car (even if they have a nice one). Someone stupid enough to street race doesn't deserve my attention.
