N/Apower:

Having studied theology in college (which apparently you have not) I know that there is nothing about the existance of early man that denies the theory that he was created by a higher being. Furthermore, the reference to "days" in Genesis I is a mistranslation of an Aramaic word that more correctly translated into the word "eras." Also, according to all the surveys I have seen, the majority of Americans (and the vast majority or Europeans) do not believe in a literal interpretation of Genesis I.

There was early man many, many thousands of years ago. Millions of years before that, there were dinosours. Get over it.

I agree that, in stock fashion, if you're not willing to dump the clutch then don't bother. However, if you are, I think our cars have very respectable 0-60 times considering the lack of torque. We'll certainly roast any FWD and many RWD as well. The S2000 was not made for drag racing, but neither was the STI. Their performance in this event is simply a byproduct of their true purposes.

Every once in a while someone writes essentially the same post. "The S2000 is not a drag race car." That is just nonsense. Tell us what car you imagine is sold as a street legal "drag race car."

You can't because that specific car doesn't exist. Just because a car has a faster 0-60 or 1/4 mile than the S2000 doesn't make it purpose-built. I feel certain you'd say my C5 Z06 was a "drag car" but you'd be wrong. The clutch is not made to be brutalized indefinitely in that car either. Maybe you never heard about the sticking-pedal issues in many Z06's?

The S2000 is fine quick car. Maybe you also do not remember when Honda advertized sub-six second 0-60's in their ads? They did, just about the time I bought mine. If you think < six seconds in a car is not a quick 0-60 then you are supremely jaded.

That 0-60 numbers you see on the mag for S2000 will require a perfect high-rev launch and a smell of a burning clutch.

I disagree. A DECENT driver can run a 5.6 0-60 in an S2000. An excellent driver can run 5.2 or less, and this is in MAGAZINES. that means people have done better.

EDIT: What car do you launch without dropping the clutch sans automatics?

i dont care what anyone says, run what ya brung and if you get whooped dont whine about it. So what if an s2k isnt a drag car (stock), people still pull 13.8s or lower stock with 1.9 60's and thats decent enough for most of the stoplight battles out there. There are people out there who have launched their s2ks a few hundred to a fewTHOUSAND of times on the stock diff and they still dont flinch to do it over again the next time. You must be crazy to think your s2k can walk away from amg slk55 from a roll, even though it was meant for the twisties people WILL run s2000's at the drag strip let alone any car for that matter. With your thinking civics were meant to be an econo box only. Were civics meant to be a drag racing type of car? stock, no. Modded YES. Skys the limit with money. Theres more than a handful of civics that have 400-800hp and they're doing 9's and better, I guess that doesnt make them a drag racing type of car either.

Tired of hearing were at a disadvantage from a stand still, when its the drivers race i have many times raced GT V-8 Mustangs and have came out victorious, truth is like one said before we are relatively light and from a dig, if you have any skill in launching you can give quite a run to all these V-8's who frown upon us because we have an Inline 4. IMO Rolling races have no skill involved, if you race, race from a dig, cause your not always sure the other guy is gonna gain traction at the beginning of the race. RACE From a DIG, our cars only carry this twistie rep cause you guys encourage the fact that we SUCK from a dig. Well WE DON"T!!!!! :-)
