raced a G35. kind of.
a friend of mine has a G35 6MT sedan and I drove it. and he drove my S2000 and we kind of goofed off. Couldn't do any quantitative 20 to 100 or deadstop rolls due to road constraints, but the G35 didn't feel as fast as the S2000. And I tried to pass him (s2000) whenever we had some stretches of road, but utterly failed.
I didn't realize how much I was used to the S2000 until I drove the G35. The engine is too quiet and I felt the car lacked a personality, but the most disappointing thing was the lack of power. I guess I was expecting too much from a VQ35. G35 sedan is an awesome car of course, but I dont think I'd pay $35k to get one. I realized that if I'm looking for a bigger car, something different than the S2000, I won't be satisfied with anything other than the E46 M3. All other 250hp-ish variants, they won't satisfy too many S2000 owners. Once you're used to the S2000, 350z, G35, TL-S, Accord V6 or many other 250hp-ish cars, there just isn't too much power difference between them. But the S2000 is the most fun to drive and it certainly feels like the fastest. hehe.

My cousin just raded in his Auto G35 coupe for a 6 spd. My god, the torque is there and though the suspension does a good job of hiding the actual speed from you, there is a noticable difference in pickup and push. Maybe it isn't THAT Much faster then an S (if faster at all) but it does push you back into the seat with all that torque.
