Yeah, you are right. They have that crappy V8! Who wants 8 cylinders? Why would that be so great?
The very first S2000 I raced was a blue one, in Iowa around Easter, I think. I had to beg him to get him to race me, and I felt so sorry for him as I ran away from him off the launch. He was with a girl, and I am sure it was surprising and disappointing to him at the same time. I slowed down to let him catch up, and he tore past and flew up an entrance ramp to the freeway. I thought he was so embarassed he split, but maybe he wanted me to follow? I was surprised I waxed him so badly, I was actually expecting to get totally destroyed based on the weight of the car.

Hell, from a take off on a bike all you have to do is sit straight up if you want to do a wheelie more easily.
You're right though about the effect of drag. Drag force increases with the square of speed - double your speed, quadruple your drag. With the top down, the S2000 (pretty much any convertible) has a really high Cd. Try getting up to some speed - it doesn't even have to be that high - and put the car in neutral, let it coast down to some slower speed. Now try it again with the top up, you'll see a noticeable difference.

The location of a bike/rider CG has a lot to so with the tendancy of a bike to wheelie - both longitudinally and vertically.
Moment of inertia does have to do with the gyroscopic effect, but not this moment of inertia. The gyroscopic effect (balance) comes from the inertia of the wheels. This moment of inertia (the moment of the entire bike around the rear axle) has to do with accelerating the bike itself, angularly.

Thanks for the explanation, ejis.
I just have one more thing. Considering the moment of inertia at which the bike is accelerating and the movement of the center of gravity, how long would it take for you and I to gang up on Dave22 and kick his a$$ for the remark he made?
