Raced a VR6
I was coming home from work yesterday, top down and the weather was just cool enough so the S was running great no bogging at all........well I was driving spiritedly and I guess this VW saw me in his rearview.
He was in front of me and was revving his engine, I also noticed a big muffler, the car sounded good and not farty. I pull up next to him and said "what do you have under there" he said "VR6".
So we lined up and he said that from a dig he has no chance at front wheel drive, and I think he said he had 260hp.......we then went our seperate ways......
i figure it's a win because he threw up the white flag.

If he said he had 260hp, he was either lying, deluded, or he had a VF Engineering supercharger on there.
VR6's in general make 220hp max with mods. Most make around 190hp with mods. Adding the supercharger to one of those will put it squarely about the 250-260hp range.
Unless it was a 24V 3.2L VR6, in which case that driver really sucked
because that would be an R32, and have the AWD off the line advantage. But chances are, it wasn't an R32 unless it was dual exhausts and you saw a rear end differential under there
