Default So my dad is getting an APR chip for his TT....

How fast are these cars with it?

It claims to make out around 257hp, the guy at the shop said it should "smoke" an S2000

If he has the 225hp 1.8T .. not the 180hp 1.8t, he should be making an advertised 263hp instead. The 257hp/264tq is based off of 91 Octane and you live in PA where 93 is readily available.

However, it looks like the 257/263hp # isn't the power to the wheels .. http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/ecu_upgrade_tt.html

It'll still be slower until he gets a turboback exhaust.. then maybe he'll be slightly faster, but not too much..

like this guy said, that's not the power it makes at the wheels, just the crank. add to that the fact that a TT is AWD AND a significantly heavier car than the S2000. you'll still probably be making more power at the wheels than your dad after his chip, and you'll have the weight advantage by at least 200lbs, probably more. if you can drive your car with any level of competence at all, you should be able to beat your dad after his upgrade.

APR I got their ecu for the new beetle 1.8T and what a difference! 50 hp and 72 lbs/ft for $600... can't beat that. the car was still heavy though... plus it was an automatic.
