races from this weekend (long)
Alright, as you all know, I have had an impending race with a 1991 Mustang GT 5.0. That race did not happen. I called the kid aaaallllll day friday and he never returned the call. (maybe out trying to get his nitrous bottle filled up?)lol
When we got hold of him Saturday he said he was busy, etc, excuse, blah blah. Okay, so now I gotta try this weekend again. However, I am also supposed to race ///M so maybe I will have them both go to GLD so we can fight it out on the track.
I did, however, go to the street races Friday night. (read: legally sanctio.... oh whatever, you know what it is)
Our first location (location A) was packed. Probably 200 cars and well over 300 people. I ran into a friend of mine from RevTek motorsports who wanted to run me with his Eclipse GS-T. We drove to the start and lined up. From what I know, his mods are downpipe, exhaust, intercooler, boost controller, (and I THINK upgraded turbo). From what I understand he runs like 20psi boost.
I got a great launch and took the lead right away. By end of 1st I think I had about 1 car length. I heard him mis-shift 2nd, so I gained a bit more from that, and continued to pull until we let off at about 90mph or so. At that point I was maybe 3 or 4 lengths ahead??
Immediately after, we saw everyone take off, so we figured the cops had shown up. We're like, crap.... so we go back and get in the HUGE line of cars as they hurry out like a bunch of sheep. As I'm leaving, yup, there's 3 squads sitting down by the start line. They have nothing, and they know it. They just sat there while we all left.
So now we play the circle and wait game. This consists of driving up and down the main roads nearby while we wait for the cops to go away. While we are doing that, another HUGE group of imports meets up with us. This crowd is apparently from the other nearby race location (location B), since the cops just busted them up too. So now we have doubled to probably 400 cars going up and down 60th street and Good hope Road in milwaukee at like 12:00AM. Yeah.... LOTS of cars.
After we do this for another 5 minutes, the decision is made to go to the other location (location B), even though that one has already gotten broken up. We get there and there are cars and people EVERYWHERE. The whole street is lined with cars as well as the side streets. People parking all the way down side streets just to come watch. I have NEVER seen this many cars at the races. It was, well, AWESOME.
So I line up with my friend again right away, and this time I get a bad launch. I'm spinning wayyyy too much. The back end goes right, then left, so I let off until my tires bite. By end of 1st he's got maybe half a length on me. By end of 2nd he has maybe 1 or 2 lengths. Into 3rd and I start to pull on him again, but he shuts down at about 80mph or so. (this street is shorter, but I MIGHT have been able to take him had we had a full 1/4 mile). Okay, so I'm 1 and 1 with him, but I'm wondering how the hell he got me so bad in 1st/2nd gear and pulled on me. I never really asked him because a win is a win, but speculation tells me he may have cranked the boost up even more. I also know that he sometimes has problems with his car holding boost, so I'm thinking first race it maybe was near 18psi. And 2nd race it was 20 or 22psi...??
I am going to put another post up to tell the rest of the story.......

There were also a few domestics down there. Including an orange mustang GT (2001+). He also has the Fast and Furious logo thing on the side of his car (like the supra... you know, that guy with the fist and helmet??)
He also claims that he has every upgrade possible for that car, without going FI. He says it's CAI, K&N, exhaust, header, pulleys, etc, etc, etc. He named like 30 things. He also has 4.11 gears and from what I also heard he says he has like 600hp.
He raced my friend with the LT1 SS twice. (This is the LT1 that I go back and forth with all the time... win/loss/win/loss, etc)
On the first race the stang got spanked. 600hp my ass. I got it on video if anyone wants to host. The 2nd race my friend spun too much and lost. (though once he hooked, he pulled on the stang slightly the whole way).
My friend with the SS also raced a friend of the GT who had an LT1 Z28 convertible. The guy claimed he had 150shot nitrous. He had nitrous and we saw him purge his lines, but when they raced, my friend took him on the launch and then the guy shot ahead once he kicked the nitrous on 2nd gear. However, by 90mph the Z28 only had maybe 2 lengths on him. 150-shot my ass. I think I also got this one on video, again if anyone wants to host.
It was a very exciting weekend, and I got lots of races on video. We raced til 2am at location B. Then the crowd went back to location A and raced til 4am (though i didn't go). Great weekend for the races, and certainly the most cars I have ever seen.

I didn't even read this post but damn...You need to write some books or something. I've never heared of anyone that races as much as you....
And I heard a rumor of a hyundai tiburon and you being the same person or something?
I dunno, but I think its quite entertaining. I'd give you my T-Rex to chew on but hey we live to far away.

Dude if that guy was really running around 20 psi you should have had him like that. Either he wasnt tuned right or was bullshitting you. I have a friend that is tuned in on a 97 gst at 18psi with complete engine management setup and BOV, downpipe exhaust, fuel upgrades and a few other things and he is hitting 13.0 flat at around 106 all day long. Was that guy have engine issues or something? I just ask cause anything that isnt detonating and running piss poor at 20psi in a sports car should have held you off better than that. Well maybe not anything most stuff.
Well as I said, he's having some reliability issues with the car maintaining boost. I think that race he said he only had 16psi or so, but the 2nd race, he had full boost. This is not the first boosted GST I've raced.
Your friend running 18psi and 13.0 in the 1/4 mile is totally believeable. But he has at LEAST drag radials. GST's are front wheel drive and it KILLS their time in the 1/4 mile... even on higher boost. A GSX with the same mods will run almost a full second quicker just because of the AWD launch....
