Yeah, he was having problems maintaining his boost levels. Though from my understanding, an upgraded eclipse with stock gears will pull on me on the lower end, but if you go anything above 80-90mph the S2000 starts to pull... I had an encounter with a GSX with another friend of mine on the freeway, and I pulled about 2 lengths on him from like 80mph-120mph. And he was running somewhere around 16psi if I remember correctly...

I know a GSX with higher boost would murder me off the line. But a GST is a different story.... This is not the last time I will race this guy, as he is a friend of mine.... Next time I'll ask exactly what boost he's running and get it on tape.

And as I said, the 2nd race he pulled on me in 1st and 2nd gear, but I slowly started to gain ground in 3rd... though we had to shut down at like 80mph and he was ahead.

Anyone else had similar experiences with boosted eclipses??

 

I ran a 1G eclipse when I had my chevelle when I was 17.................My car ran high 12's so I thought I was the all knowing shit and this crappy import will just be killed. Well let me just say OOPS. He had a GSX with a built motor and an HKS single turbo setup pushing around 30 psi and a 100 shot to boot, which of course he used against me. Basically it was also gutted as far as you can get a car and keep it in your driveway. So needless to say thats one encounter thats not very good for my history books.

I talked to my friend, he said when he raced me the first race, his boost only held to about 14 or 15psi.... The 2nd race it held at 17 psi. He has downpipe, SAFC, boost controller, BOV, exhaust, intercooler, and 20g turbo.

I think the fastest I trapped was 101 or 102....

I don't know what cars you see doing what. But this is a friend of mine. I don't know how well he drives, but I don't think he's a slouch.

Like I said, those are his mods, and that's the PSI he's running.... Again, he is having problems keeping boost with the new 20G turbo, but it's also a street race, so who knows.??
