98 - 02 LS1 Trans-Ams/Camaros/Corvettes share the same engine and make around 345HP at the crank bone stock(doesnt matter which model it is)

LT1's make around 260 RWHP

Trans am and z28 make 310 hp, ss and ws6 make "325" hp, corvette makes 345hp, year 2001 corvette goes up to 350hp. All the LS1. The trans am and Camaro makes 350 tq, as does the Corvette, until year 2001, the Corvette makes 375 tq. Again, all LS1. The S has no chance stock, or even modded, you need a lot of luck.

BUT, when you dyno the vette and camaros, they make almost the same hp to the wheels, the camaros/trans ams are under rated. BUT, the corvette has better gearing, better aerodynamics, and better other things.

With forced-induction, proper tuning and a decent driver, you can edge out a stock Camaro/Trans Am LS1.

Hey, as long as I could keep up (have beaten one LT1 in the past) with a torque monster, I'm satisfied. LT1=260rwhp and monster torque can only keep up with a tiny engine with little torque. Gotta love that! And who ever says no torque equals no go?!! Plus, it's a damned cutie car. Everyone says so, "...Oooh! That is such a cute car! And you're sooo cute..." hehe Moreover, it's one of the funnest cars to drive. I'm just happy with it. I'm waiting to turbocharge it, but afraid it may make me wanna speed more and get into troubles with the traffic laws. I have another car to drive, but I just love driving the S.

A turboed S will take an LS1 with ease. It won't be a murder, but it'll be a walk with ease. Ask turbo owners!!!
