The problem I have with competitive canyon runs like that was my Z06 would handle far greater corner speed than visibility would safely allow. But you're right, driver makes a bigger difference in any twisty racing than the hardware. SCCA auto-x is a safer place to experience say, a S2000 getting whipped by a Ford Focus...
