What happened?
I was enjoying an aggressive ride today on a very twisting rural road in a forest. I thought I was beginning to get good with my 04 S, more confident than when I bought it 8 months ago.
An evil looking black Mustang GT appeared in my rear view mirror and I could tell he wanted to stick with me. I thought, "Good, I have the Mustang where I want him, on a twisting road where a heavy car like his cannot keep up." I was doing about 65 on a road made for about 45. Every time I would take a curve the Mustang would lose a little ground but he would keep up. In my mind, the Mustang was struggling to stay with me.
Finally on a straight part of the road, the Mustang passed me like I was standing still. He was doing about 80 mph as he crossed the double yellow lines. He maintained that speed until he was out of my sight.
What did I do wrong?

You got taken in by the myth that cars from Detroit can't handle curves.

If he just drove away from you, then you were just driving slow. Following someone is a good way to know what to expect in a corner, btw. If a Mustang can take a corner at a speed, the S certainly can. Next time, try and keep up
