The other day I was on I-95 trying to do a top speed with my friend in the car. There were two major straights that I could do it. But because of my shitty exhaust, my top speed is lower than usual. Maybe I lost all the backpressure or something because I did 167 mph on my fir MY00 S2000. It had 6500 miles on it when I did that speed, The one I have now is a MY02 S2000 but I purchased it with 18000 miles on it so I don't know how the other owner took care of his car. Anyways, I was on the secong straight and I was doing 151 mph but I know there is something wrong because the speedo was going up too slow. I was on the 3rd lane from the left and my friend yelled "COP!!" I thought the cop was in front of us so I tried to slow down, went down to around 138 mph, then I realized the cop was entering the highway from my right (All these happened in about 4 seconds ) There was no way I could slow down so I hit the gas again and just flew by him with like 140 mph, he put on his high beams (probably tried to get my tag) I don' t even know if he tried to catch me because there were lots of headlights behind me i couldn't see who was who, then after like 4 exits, i took the exit and started to go into different streets and then he was gone. I never saw him. It is really exiting when you do it (I don't know if anybody did it) but I can't explain the feeling when you are sure you ran away...

 

If I do this where I live the cops will be waiting for me at my door there are like 4 s2000 in the area and I have the only black one

Dayum, you were doing top speed run on highway? Where did you do that? People need to know.

 

I did that one time... except the cop threw on the blue lights and turned around over the median. I was in my Accord doing 130 racing a boosted probe. it was at night(black car) so I managed to get out of sight, flip a U turn and head back towards him in case he radioed ahead.

Honestly, I was scared sh*tless, counted my blessings, and decided I used up way too much of my luck at that one moment! Not something I would hope to have to try and pull off again.

Glad you escaped.....I've ran from the cops intentionally a few times...None in my s2000, once in my gsx, and twice in my Cherokee. Got away scot free all 3 times, mainly due to the people I was racing decided to take the ticket...I wasnt havin any...I wouldnt run If I didnt think I could get away.

 

167 does seem a lil high...Sure you didnt have the KMPH button pushed

I havent hit that number in the s yet. And probably wont untill I'm Turbocharged.

 

Fastest I've gotten my S was 146-50 mph @ around 7-7.5rpms. It just creeps up after 135-140 mph. And then it seems like it stops @ 145 mph. Dead stock btw. Best place to get top speed would be Highway 5 going to or from Nor Cal/So Cal. Could the S redline 6th stock? I don't have the balls to do it just yet, getting up to 140 mph is crazy enough.
