RX-8
Had to take care of some errands early this AM. In my pre-coffee morning haze, an RX-8 pulls up next to me and decides we're racing from a red. Since I wasn't expecting a race, I didn't even bother since he was probably in 2nd gear by the time I left the light. Saw the usual hazard flash.
For the next couple of miles I tried to get next to him at a light but this guy was going to make a point of staying in front of me and not let me catch up for a real run.
Normally this is where most of my 'encounters' end because I just don't have time for this kind of crap.
However, this time I decided it was time for a change. I worked around some traffic and finally got next to the 8 at a light with clear road up ahead. Other than stickers, I saw nothing but a stock RX-8. Boy had his windows down and was pumpin some rap. I gave a little rev to let him know this time I wasn't going to let him just go. He leaned out of his window "I've never lost to an S2000" I just smiled and said "There's a first time for everything"
Light turns. I got a very nice launch. He was definitely on it since I heard him chirp 1-2 but by this time he was about a car back. I shut down at the top of 4th ahead by a few cars. (Honestly, I dont know how you guys can tell the difference between 3 cars, 5 cars and 7 cars when you're watching the tach and road... I sure can't). He was pretty small in my rearview when I shut down though.
He flew by and gave me the one finger salute out the window.
My hp mods: Comptech SC/AC/exhaust, testpipe.
