Nothing is wrong. As I mentioned, I don't know how many cars it was... more than one, less than 20. My eyes were on the road and my tach. I glanced up at my rear view when I took my foot off the gas and he was way back there.

I definitely held nothing back.

Anyway, thanks for the comments.
no worries mate (i'm SCed too)

but my wide 10.5" rear wheels might be slowing me down a tad bit .. perhaps enough for an RX8 to keep up with me

how would they do stock for stock?
Not much better. The RX8 is a capable car, but the S2K definitely has the edge in all performance areas...particularly in a straightline stoush. It just gets worse for the RX8 as speeds soar from my experience.

good job! but just out of curiosity, if both cars were stock how does our beloved s2000 fair with the rx8 in the 1/4 mile and how about top-end, because if my memory serves me right rx8's are supposed to have killer top-end!

Good point - stock for stock it'll make nice work of the RXL8t (I like the style of the RX8; just had to say it)

The S2000 has the edge in the 1/4 mile, get a killer launch and you'll put aprox. 3-4 carlengths on one, however a mediocre or lazy launch (3.5k or thereabouts) will see it pretty much side by side, with the S2K pulling ahead around the 1/4 mile mark, or thereabouts. As for top-end, going by a magazine test (yea i know, mag racing), in a 0-1000m test (1km), the s2k ran it in 26.12 seconds @ 209km/h, whilst the Rx8 managed 26.50 seconds @ 199km/h, testers actually said the RX8 seemed to run out of puff, which suggests it does not have much of a top end at all.

Personally, when I had the fortune of driving an RX8 for 4mths I never took it high enough to find out. FYI in that same test RX8 reached a max speed of 235km/h (147mph) & could do no more , S2K managed 246km/h (154mph) and ever so slowly climbing before the braking area.
