^ look at the 60's and the ET and the MPH. HOLY CRAP they ET high for the 60' and the MPH!!!

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/etdb.php?etl...sc&pp=25&page=2

^here, compare that to the LS1tech.com F-body database and you will see what us domestic and other import owners mean when they say "supra syndrome" (Dont challenge it on a dyno or from a 70 punch, but you can hand him his ass any time at the strip!)
That is crazy, but if you look at a few of the times and traps you can also see how the same thing you are saying about the F-bods being faster with lower traps and higher 60' stands true even between Supras. It makes me question what really causes the apparent discrepancies between 60', trap, and e.t.

LOL @ the guy that posted the 15.00@100mph.

No, the Supra's trapped on avg. 10-15mph higher with the same ET and the same 60'.

Look at the timeslips and it will prove my and everyone elses point about "supra syndrom".

I was just saying that there are Supras that ran faster than other Supras even with lower traps and higher 60' times. What really causes that?

They had a peakier power band. There are LOTS! of variables. The main point I was trying to make was that a Supra is a dyno/roll-race queen and doesnt really turn any heads at a drag strip.

EDIT:
OH, you mean you dont know why they ran a higher mph and still had a worse ET and worse 60'? They just had trouble hooking up. Probably spun on some shifts too which increased their time and didnt hurt the trap speed any.

No, I mean this:
2.100 8.900@89.0 13.400@109.0
2.200 8.800@84.0 13.500@105.0

Two Supras with very different trap speeds essentially ran the same 1/4 mile(e.t. difference is in the 60').

It's not as pronounced, but it's the same idea.

Here's a thought: The 109mph came from an auto.

ONe guy hit the brakes before the end of the strip. That is how you get STOOPID low ET with low mph. EX. 12.1@97mph

When you hit the brakes in the last 100' or so it does NOTHING to your ET almost but a TON! to your mph.

That is just one (and very likely) possibility in the scenario you presented.

OR! one guy may shift really crappy.

I think the higher trap has to do with the auto shifting faster and not dropping boost between shifts.

I'd love to continue the debate, but maybe it is best saved for pm's from here on. We kinda hijacked this thread that was once about an S2k v. a 300ZX.

The thread wasn't really hi-jacked too bad. It was just a vid posting. Yes, boost-drop is possible.

Yes, displacement is a big part of it, as is number of cyl. But not as big a deal as power-band. boost levels, ect. Look at some V6 nitrous/ turbo mustangs, they still run "normal" mph/ET's. Thats a 6 cyl.
