That statement is very inaccurate if you are talking about the SRT-4. Stock for stock, the SRT-4 and the S2000 are pretty comparable in a straight-line. In the turns, its no contest - S2000 will leave a SRT-4 in the dust on a road course or AutoX setup.

An EVO or STi would probably beat a S2000 in overall performance, if we are talking econobox performance. An SRT-4, from the factory, does nothing more than accelerate in a straight-line quickly. With money, of course, that can be changed....

You can interpret that however you wish.

I have a lot of respect for the STi and EVO both (I have one friend who has an STi, and another who has an EVO), and I would love to have one or the other in my garage....however, the truth is they are a much faster version of an economy car.....and Mitsu and Subaru did a much better job and making an economy car very performance oriented than Dodge did with the Neon.
