Would anyone else not be surprised if the Altime won? Grocery getters are getting faster and faster these days. A Maxima has 290 HP for crying out loud LOL.

S2k's aren't 1/4 milers. Good for low 14's if the driver is good. Good for low 15's or worse if the driver sucks.

It wouldn't suprise me if new Altima's also run low 14's or better, 14 is a pretty common number these days. And soon 13 will be the new 14, if it isn't already.

S2ks are made for the twisties. That's a tired old excuse - but it was true 10 years ago when low 14's beat most Nissans, and it's still true today.

the maxima is actually a 14.5 car =P even with 290hp it weighs about 3500lbs and its automatic. doesnt come with manual.

and 0-60 is 6 seconds...

 

^LOL. The point is, many new cars can take out an S2K off guard. From a roll, I bet it'd be pretty even. Anyway, OP, stop living your life a quarter mile at a time.

 

I would not be surprised at all.

I don't know if they are planning some highway roll or from a stop. But from a roll, alot of these FWD mainstreams will absolutely move out. Without the launch being an issue, the ET's mean little and the number that matters is the trap speed. These V6 Altimas, Camrys, Accord coupes will all trap in the 100mph range, which is how an S2000 trapped back when new.

 

Engine swap + drive train conversion = Cheap fast car...
