I know what you mean. The 335 is definitely an 'old man' car, but in this case you beat the driver, not the car. They are definitely faster in a straight line, but no matter what are still a bit of a bore to drive, which is why I traded mine for something more fun..

My wife drives a 335is convertable, nice car to drive tons of power but the S2000 is way way more fun to drive! Even with the 7 speed DCT transmission it would kick my butt any day!!! The handling is great but it is so much bigger than the S2000.

I ran one of these on the freeway a few days ago, went from about 80-115/120ish, he kept jumping on me which put him at a bit of an advantage, but at that high of speeds, my 4.77s are kinda fail, so that + empty nitrous bottle meant I was about a bus length behind, however I quit his pull at 8k+rpms, but when I shifted he would start pulling again. I can definitely see pulling on these in the lower speeds when weight matters more

I think i will make a video, im going to see him tomorrow so if we get a chance, ill try to get it on tape and put it on here, 335i is a cool car its much more updated and smooth but when i sit in my car it is a complete different experience, as far as freeway runs i had raced my other friends 335 on the free way his was a 07 we did a 45 roll till about a 120 and around 70 he pull on me and around a 100 it didn't seem like i was getting any closer. If the s2000 came 300 hp stock lol, one can only imagine how crazy it would be since it is already an amazing car at 240hp.

Yea it's not a contest normally, though I don't think anyone is claiming otherwise. Having had a 4.57 plus bolt-ons s2k and now having a 335xi, you are talking two different cars for two very different purposes. I'm pretty certain my 335xi (auto) would not have had much difficulty in a straight line against my s2k though.

I ran a guy in my miata that had a chipped 335. The guy was talking crap to everyone and had me really nervous before the race, I guess it's just the bimmer way. They're decently quick, but definitely no supercar. Under favorable circumstance I could see a stock s2k hanging pretty close.
