You would know if it was a 427 or not just by listening. Not much else sounds like that.

The 427 Cobra held the fastest accelerating production car in the world title untill the F40 came along - a cool 20 year record. Guiness book of records had it at 0 - 100 - 0 in 9.6 if my memory serves.

Dream on...

I have talked to several of the local SuperFormance Cobra owners and they are VERY quick and FAST. One fellow has a bored and stroked 351 Cleveland that's dynoed at 450HP and he was telling me that he will spin the rear wheels at 70 by just flooring the gas. I would say that this other Cobra was just playing with you. Sorry, but there is just no way that we can even come close to a Cobra.

replica's out number the real deal by quite a bit....so most cobras ya see are replica's. some have kits that use 5.0 liters. Or 350 crate motors. The options are endless. But there are a lot more replica cobras than people think. If you have the real deal...........with a 427
in good shape...its worth a lot more than 100,000.

I think just about anybody would be able to tell the difference between a 351, which sounds like a "regular" engine, even built, and a monster like a 427. There is no confusion. Kinda like a garbage truck on steroids. You know you heard something big, just may not be sure what it was.

It sounded like the real deal and it sounded like he was getting on it! real deep sound and didnt rev real high? maybe he was toying with me or he didnt want to hurt his son i dont know. i wish the cop wasnt ahead of us then we would know for sure if it was the real deal. started racing at 70 and went to about 95-100. 2002 silver with 18" morkmiester s2r wheels.
