well not 80$ exactly but i was just conveying the fact that all they would have to get is an inexspensive boost controller and it makes the race more interesting.

^^i thought the SRT4's ECU tended to override boost controllers unless you flashed or reprogrammed it? at least I remember reading something to that effect on srtforums.com. so basically, getting JUST a boost controller won't do much magic for the SRT4.

a resident SRT4 troll may correct me....

I guess I just do not care how fast you can make an SRT-4 go in a straight line, its still just a Neon. We all know which car in a comparsion of the SRT-4 and the S2000 is the better overall sports car. If I wanted a quarter-mile monster I probably would have bought something with a V8.

That is what I love most about the car. Four cylinders, capabale of high-13s naturally aspirated, and a suspension that I have witnessed be dominant in stock form at a SCCA event...and on empty two-lane roads. It is the perfect combination of all aspects of a sports car, and its affordable as well.

Yep, I am a hater. Neons will always suck, in any shape or form. You can agree or disagree, but I don't believe too many women are going to take a second look at you in a SRT-4....because all they see is a Neon.

As I always say, any turd can drive a car for stop light ot stop light in a straight line. Ask Mr SRT4 to play follow the leader and head over to a nice twisty road. You'll never see him again unless you pull over to pee or get gas.

i respect drag racing, and drag cars. going in a straight line still takes skill...but neons are still...well, neons.

The spring mod which is a couple bucks will let them boost 15 psi to redline. Just a wastegate will make huge improvements with boost to 18 psi or so.

right but as i said, even with that mod, the ECU tends to fight it or something. and it's 17psi, not 18psi.

and even then, an S2000 will still stay with the SRT4 and pull on the top end. so i guess $80 won't do it.
