Default S2000 vs. TA

I don't know much about TA's so sorry if my info is just wrong. I don't race, but I also don't play holier than thou, so that's outta the way.

I was just talkin to a fellow Houston owner about launching the car. I was in the left lane, and he was in the lane next to me on the right. We were sitting at a light, and I said, want me to launch? He said sure. I said, cool...and starting waiting for the light to change. He yells to me, this guy (on his right) is gonna run you. I said what?? Before I knew it, I hear tire squeeling...I said, oh damn, i rev up to 6000-7000 rpms and just dropped it, tires chirpped and caught. I couldn't ask for a better launch. When I looked to my side...nothing. I looked back a little more, it's a Trans Am (with ram intake). Shut down around 90 or so. I was thinking, I dunno nothing about that car, but I know it's a monster. HOLY GEEZ, my friend set me up to get smoked!!! I was lucky the driver kept spinning off the line. So a win is a win right?? heheheh.

I was talkin to the thread starter...a stock S2K shouldn't beat a T/A...however, as mentioned, anythings possible on the road and its not a stretch to believe it. Some mods would help your case though

if its a lt1 t/a you should beat it every time with a good launch... i went to the 1/8th mile track last night and i outran an ls1 camaro twice,an lt1 t/a about a hundred times, an SS camaro once... then got beat by a busted ass 79 camaro with a big block, and a mustang with over $10k under the hood... now granted i cut a better light than most of em but i ran a 9.2 consistently with horrible traction... just my $.02 about my experiences.... an lt1 t/a honestly isnt to bad... like 240 rwhp if im correct... but weighs like 3300 lbs.

i beat a lt1 ws6 from a dead stop.. we lined up side by side and my friend got out, drop his hands, and we went. i dropped it at 6000rpm.. his was an automatic.. we both spun but i caught and took a 3 car lead..... we ran up to about 100.. my lead slowly grew..... is this because he was auto and weighs so much(he also had a huge as stero system to add to the weight issuse)cause i def. didn't expect to beat him like that.

i really don't want to sound like an idiot, and a little off the topic, but what is spugen? is it a combination of mugen and spoon, or an all together different brand?

Not saying i doubt the run, but statiscally, a LS1 T/A is a low low 13 second car and a LS1 T/A is still a high 13 second car...but as said, anything's possible on hte street and if he can't find traction, of course you're going to win! his fault for not investing in a better suspension/wheel combo
