S2k Vs. 02 Vette
Ok,
My buddy keeps bragging that his Vette can smoke my Supercharged S2000, I dont know my limitations so if theres anyone out there that can give me a little info.
His STOCK Coupe Chevy Corvette 02 (not Z06)
VS.
My Comptech Supercharged S2k?

Ummm...
I think it will come down to driver but I would put my money on C5.
Unless you consistenly pull 13sec flat or less, I wouldn't mess with C5.
To make things worse, if you make any mistake in your S2000, it will be hard to catch up. But for C5, he can make a minor mistake and still has enough torque to make up for it.
American legend is not too easy to beat up, I guess...

I should be real close, I think you could beat him if you drive real well, its defineately possible...this would be a great race to see, if you do it you should get it on video... it all depends on the drivers in a race this close...but i would bet on s2k from a roll
I am really curious why you would want to drive from a roll ? I heard this on the Maxima thread. Wouldn't you want to drive from a dead stop as that play to the S2000's weight advantage. From a roll you are looking at weight being less of a criteria as the objects are already in motion. When the Maxima has a 255 hp engine and the S2000 (stock) has 240 isn't that the last thing you would want to do. The stock Corvette weighs about 400 lbs. more than the S2000 I would figure the best way/chance for the S2000 is to rev to 5k-6k and drop the clutch and hope you get off the line quicker. Just one opinion.

My S2000 used to be SC'd, but I returned to NA form. There is no doubt that SC S2000's are actually faster from 6-9k rpm than the 1/4 mi. #'s indicate and it is in that range which the S2000 will have a chance with a C5. From a dead stop, it is very difficult unless you have changed to a numerically higher final drive ratio to get a decent launch. If you're intent on drag racing the S, getting "out of the hole" quickly is very hard to do on this car without sacrificing your differential.
My advice is to start off at about 6krpm rolling in 1st or 2nd gear and have the Vette match your speed. It doesn't matter much to the C5 as they have pretty much 300ft-lbs of torque anywhere on the tach. Then after you mash the throttle, get ready for the 1-2 shift as it comes up real quick on the SC S2k.
From what I've seen, if the C5 manages to get in front of you, it's really tough to get it back. If I had to bet money, I'd go with the C5 on the race. I know very well that a SC S2k CAN beat C5 but the C5 is a much more consistent performer and will require much less driver aptitude to extract that nth level of performance.
