S2k Vs. 02 Vette
S2K Mello Yello
I have a Comptech supercharged and I killed several stock C5s. If you are not good at launching, take him from a roll. If you make no mistake and shift at redline, you will pass him around end of 3rd or 4th gear.

On the street from a stand still..I'll take the C5 all day without Glen driving.
Top end hp.. against easy to launch torque plus top end hp..plus a drag coeficient of around 29.Plus a higher trap speed.

I think it will come down to driver but I would put my money on C5.
Unless you consistenly pull 13sec flat or less, I wouldn't mess with C5.
To make things worse, if you make any mistake in your S2000, it will be hard to catch up.

It can't be just about torque. Then how would a 2002 911 with 273 lb./ft. of torque be able to run against the vette (same 0-60 & 1/4 mi. times) with 345 lb./ft., or the S2000 (w/153 lb.ft.) go up against the 2000 M Roadsters (236 lb./ft.) same 0-60 & 1/4 mi. times. Torque is one of the variables in the equation but if this was the MAIN factor wouldn't the Mustang GT's with 300 lb. ft. be twice as fast as the S2000 ? Driven correctly the Comptech should be getting 13 flats-low 13's (notice DRIVEN CORRECTLY). I think it would be a good race, like they said see if you can get video of it.
i said this a long time ago and i'll say it again. if both cars are properly driven (ie. glen's skillzzzzzz), then very close. BUT, at the track, i've seen C5's run HIGH 13's CONSISTENTLY (keep in mind these are the ones from my personal experience only). think i've seen only 1-2 run a mid 13 (again, personal experience only). I KNOW they can consistently run mid 13's all day and some low 13's, but i gotta see it to believe it (well, i'd take your words for it in some cases...lol). the SC S2K is renowned for having a very small margin for error on a launch.....it will come down to driver. basically, you'll never know how you match up to that guy unless you run em. GET IT ON TAPE!
thanks!
thanks!

Stock C5's that can run 13 seconds flat or less in the 1/4 are about as common as stock S2000 running 13's.
I'd say an average driver in a C5 will probably run mid-13's, MAYBE low 13's.
Granted, you'd have to be an above-average driver to run those times in a SC S2000, but I don't think you have to be a master and run 12's in order to have a chance against a stock C5.
