The new Z's with Variable timing (MREV) are showing great promise in the NA lands. Most are dynoing in the 250whp range stock on dynojet.. some in the 260whp on dynopak. But these cars are reacting very well to the mods.. the 4 guys that have done light mods are tapping into 280whp.. the guy with 288whp is a 03 with custom cams and every bolt-on.
that's exactly it.. in 2005 Nissan upgraded several of the engine components, which included the cams. He has the 2005 and that's possibly why his dyno, along with other 2005 owners, are responding so well to mods. I am actually at his house right now trying to scan the dyno and upload it for you guys.

Here's the dyno of my buddies 350z. It states that at 6500 rpm's the rwhp was 283.2. The red line represents my friends Z while the green line shows an APS Twin Turbo Z.

I own a 2004 350z as well as a 2002 s2000... With some luck, at 288 rwhp hes going to have MAJOR problems getting traction (with stock tires).... I have problems getting traction with the stock hp... This is something that is very much pronounced due to the 350's high torque output. Do you have any idea how much torque he's putting down on a dyno... I think that would give us a better idea than hp... Having said this, unless he has put on some stickier tires, he will have huge problems driving that car. An s2000 with 4.56 MAY beat it.

I will ask him tomorrow if he has a dyno with the torque. He has the Nitto 555's 285's in the back and 265 in the front. I don't how good the nitto's are but I have heard some pretty good stuff about them so... Let me know let me know if I'm wrong
