Had an interesting encounter with an acura...

3.2 CL type s

First roll was from 61mph, with me being in 3rd gear. He had a head start as the honks did not match up and I was a bit behind. Slowly began catching up and at the end of 4th his bumper was at my door-rear quarter panel.

Second roll we went from 70mph, again with me being in 3rd. This time we both went at the same time and I think I started to gain on him a lot quicker...until I hit the rev-limiter and missed 4th at the same time (not a pleasant experience)

That was it.
Afterwards we talked a bit. He had an intake (I'm not sure what), and Comptech Headers.
I'm all stock.

EDIT - it was a 6speed

Those are pretty fast. Make sure you are in Vtec when you race one or you might be surprised.

Yes, they come with an optional 6 speed transmission. The mags always have the TL-S's a bit faster than the CL's. They're pretty quick. If you go up against the new TL, expect a better fight.

Good race, btw.

Remember to be in VTEC. I am sure the race would have been different if you had ran from second gear at 45mph or third at around 80. Nice fun. The TL's can be pretty quick.

You can only buy the CL Type S in the 6 speed. A type S will always have and advantage on the roll because the trans kicks down into VTEC everytime you floor it. The trans will usually put the engine in the best part of it's power band. If you are in a S2K and you are smart about which gear you select you will pull on a Type S.

With 6 speed I'm gonna have to say it would be neck and neck if both drivers were competent. . . Type S has 280 horsepower and V6 with bigger balls on the top end... I raced a new V8 Ford Thunderbird, I walked it up to 130 in my S2000 but didn't dust him like I thought I would.
