Well we took the S out for a cruise tonight, it was pretty boring at the local hangout so we headed home. Were on the freeway and start coming up on a older 94 up body style Mustang, he had some #'s on his window like he just came from the track. Well as we start passing him he floors it and takes off, I wasnt expecting it, so I downshift and he easily pulled away, I was like damn pretty quick, then the wife notices that its a Cobra. We get another opening, no one in sight. I take off first in 4th gear, he didnt gain any, then as I shift to 5th it seems like were not moving and he blows past us, Id say he got 3-4 cars before he stopped pulling, I shift to 6th and am at about 137 mph and he taps his brakes, we wouldnt have caught him. I was pretty disappointed Im sure he was modded, but it was kinda weird, do 18's slow you down that much? The car felt like it was struggling at that speed.

I know for a fact if we were in the Evo it would have been a much better race, even though most people think the Evo has no top end. I know in the Evo it gets up to 140 without breaking a sweat, and I have had it up to 150 and it still had some rpm's left. Oh well, maybe I'll see him around when Im in the Evo

 

Believe it or not, I ran a 97 Cobra when I had my 03 s2000, I had I/H/E Cusco Clutch and flywheel... he had a blank stare, but then again he had 3 passengers.

Maybe the 97 Cobra you ran was modded. Nice Death

 

Well I know he had at least 1 passenger, but he was pretty fast. Well, Like I said the S seemed sluggish at 135 or so and he wasnt really pulling after that. Oh well, like I said maybe I'll catch him in the Evo one day, hopefully when fully modded, lol...that way he will have a blank stare

Can you elaborate a little clearer? So you got a second chance to race him and you both started evenly next to each other? Why were you in 4th? At what speed did you start? Seems very high to start off a race. So you started at 90+ mph? Should've done it at a much lower speed. Maybe your wife should've been driving.

Was your top down? If so, that definitely was the cause for the car's struggle at such a high speed. Top down = parachute attached to the back of the car.

 

The top was up and the windows were up, he just happened to be faster. We started at high sppeds because we had just ran the first time, then he let off and I caught up to him, we went around a couple cars and had a huge opening. I actually went first he was about 1 car behind me. Starting at a lower speed wouldnt have mattered especially when the car starts losing steam at 135. Like I said through 4th he didnt gain an inch, but as soon as I shifted to 5th he started gaining, then blew by us.

I didnt need the wife to be driving, I needed a faster car like the Evo

Yeah, Quik should've driven the car. She would've beaten the crap out of that Cobra. C'mon, just admit your wife is a much better driver. You might know how to drive your Evo, but when it comes to driving a Formula 1 car, you just suck. With easy-to-drive cars, you may do okay, but not with this F1 S2K. J/K!

And no when we were out cruising the top was down, but we always put it up before getting on the freeway...never know when your gonna run

 

Eh, both of you don't know how to drive an F1 car. You can drive your Evo and she can drive her monstrous MR2, but when it comes to driving an F1 car, you both have no clues. J/K!
