"AVG" race Z28 off the line and high end speed... Too much accessible torque...that modulates relatively easy.

It all depends on which models.

LT1s = you may win if you are better then average driver.
LS1s = you are TOAST.

Any questions?

In a straight line, i would consider LT1s even with the s2k, they should be slightly slower but s2ks are harder to drive well...

As for track and curves, an LT1 would have difficulty keeping up since unlike the LS1s, it won't be able to make back it's cornering and braking disadvantages...

I think I'd take the Lt1 Z off the line but give the edge to the S2000 after 100mph.

Road course....do you even have to ask???

Well

Jan 2001 R&T

2001 S2000 Best time around Thunderhill
2 min 17.66 sec
2001 Z28 SS best time around Thunderhill
2 min 16.46 sec

Ouch! More than a second a lap, looks to me like the GM product isn't so bad on the road course either.

PS the Corvette Z06 was *MUCH* faster

actually at 100mph is where my friends LT-1 ws6 trans am gains back what it lost. maybe its because of the ram air.. i'm curious how much of a differerence getting a cold air intake on my car will make.

i've race his firechicken many times on the highway and from 60 to 90+ i'd pull as much as 1/2 a car.. 100+ the t/a pulls like crazy.

but his LT-1 seems to be stronger then the average lt-1.. all it has is an aftermarket exhuast.
