I was cruising around the car show and see this vette pulling closer to me on the rear view mirror. He is now next to me and and he was opening his throttle blades at me like saying lets go, so I return the favor. We come to a traffic light so we couldnt go, so I let traffic disappear in front of me while hes coming to me. from second gear we went, and we were pretty even until he always came to the top of his RPM band, at which point he would jump me some. by the end of 3rd he must have been about 1/2 car in front.
We went again this time from 3rd on. we were even through 3rd and 4th. Once I shifted into 5th thats when I was losing him moderatlely.

Unfortunately we couldnt go again

Id like the input from Supercharged guys here to see what they think and how they did.

these are my mods:
Vortech SC
ACT clutch w/ street disk
Toda Flywheel
intake gasket insulator
VAFC (dynoed at 300hp on a dynojet)
DC header

He definitely had exhaust on it because it was loud. so asked him and couldnt really hear so I think he said Cat back exhaust.

And for those supercharged, have you tried a test pipe or hollowed cat (well provided that you can get the simulator) and exhaust like dual HKS?

and what have you done to gain a little more I just dont see myself spending about 1,000 for exhaust to only get 5hp

we have the exact mods except I have a dc sports header and JIC single 2.5' and I dyno'd at 297.9 on a hot and humid day. Weight loss of 57 lbs between ti exh and dc header.

I think you did really goo. on a 1/4 mile race you would have never topped out 4th, going to 5th wasn't the right gear.

the first run is the right type of run.

I have a test pipe but I haven't bolted it in yet, I most likely will for 2 events this weekend.

the vette has similar power to weight ratio as a SC S.

I would say spend $155 on a bored out pro flow TB that would get you 15-20 more to the wheels. Spend another $960 on the toda header and get a est 22 hp to the wheels. Under 1100 and you will get 30-40 whp??? based on several other owners that are Vortech SC they have seen this type of gain.

After you get the simple bolt ons mentioned about then go to 11 psi pulley, 785 cc inj., and AEM (cost 2K). 355-390 whp. Until the engine gave out then a total rebuild of about 3-4K per my tuner.

well your rear end w/ 4.44 would make some difference, also forgot about my DC sports header

the price difference between DC and toda is major, i mean my DC headers has got to account for some improvement

defenitely must have have been a C5, I think a Z06 would have put car lengths on me

I really think that the DC has to account for more exhaust flow(more power) going into vtec transition this is what I saw when on a dyno with AEM CAI and RM exh.

Are mods are so similar. I really think the bored out TB is the cheapest $ for HP that we can do right now.

If you dyno 300 at the wheels you've got the same or slightly more peak power than a stock C5 (350 at the engine). So you'd be more than a handful, especially if the vette didn't have a 3.42 rear end. I'd like to see some instrumented roll-ons from SC'd S2000's.

If memory serves a stock C5 should dyno about 320 at the wheels. It is still heavier than the s2k.
