I decided to take a quick drive before heading over to my parents house for Thanksgiving. Just as I'm about to turn on the main street I see a red Z06 drive by...bingo. I navigate through traffic to catch up, he was just cruising at the speed limit. I cruised passed him and got into the front line of the light ahead of us. He moved over one lane close to me, but the car next to me is in front of him. The light turns green and roll out of the light. The Z06 turns into my lane to pass the slowly moving traffic. I'm waiting for him to come up to me, but he's more curiously creeping up than he is crusing up for a race. He's pacing behind me at about 3-4 car lengths. Once I hit about 60 and he isn't trying to catch up to me I decide to just floor it and go.

I just go to the floor in 3rd...and the Z06 notices. He gasses it too. 3rd....4th...5th...shut down. The Z06 wasn't really gaining. Everytime I looked back I could tell he was getting a bit closer, but he probably only gained a half a car the whole time.

I noticed the Z06 let off the gas, so I went ahead and started breaking, went back down to the speed limit. The Z06 pulled up next to me, older man, he gives a thumbs up as I give a head nod and he pulls into the left-hand turn lane.

Finally proof that I can hang with a Z06, can't beat one...but the car's fast enough to get some respect.

Well, it wasn't really a race. But people always aske me how I stack up to a Z06, so I thought I'd post it to answer those questions.

 

Another cool thread... quite interesting. You are a nut, hitting 5th on public roads...

I really enjoy your posts, but plz be extra careful during the upcoming holidays. It is a very dangerous time.
