Scared off a LS2 goat
I was driving down to the beach Saturday afternoon when I spotted a 6.0 GTO in traffic. I've been looking for one, expecting a real good race. I pulled a little on a LS1 Firebird so figured the GTO was the next step up on the food chain. As we cruised through traffic he took notice of me and punched it a couple times, presumably to scare me off. I punched it a couple times to let him know I was interested. We kept going back and forth, waiting for traffic to clear up. A lane opens up, he squeezes through and lets the LS2 rumble. I follow suit and hang right with him. It seemed that he got a slight jump on me, but I hung in there dead even. We hit some more light traffic and work our way through it.
Finally we're getting through all the traffic, coming to a nice long strait with no cars ahead. As soon as he gets past the last car he takes off. I go after him, expecting him to slow so we can line up for a run; he was definately interested just a minute before. Instead he keeps on going. I get up to about 65 in a 45 and it becomes obvious the goat has lost interest in a run. The GTO runs off at 90+ as I drop back to the speed limit. American flyby from the front?
All I can figure is that I scared him off. I suppose he's not used to flooring it, only to have a little Honda stay right with him. Maybe he thought I had more under the hood than I do, or maybe he didn't care to stick around and find out. Can't really call it a win, but he sure did get out of there with his tail between his legs.
Ohh well, maybe next time.

I'm not understanding the story. Did he floor it while in front of you? They way I'm reading it, it seems like he's one of those dumb people that thinks randomly flooring it from in front of someone can be considered a "race." It doesn't make sense that he was doing 90mph in a 45mph zone for no reason.
My bet is that he thinks he just totally destroyed you.

yea i hate those kinds. but im guessing that he thought yall were racing but didnt decide to line up bc hes an idiot. what do you have done though? to hang with a 6.0 LS2 GTO you need about 300whp
