TOUGH DUDE-
SL 55 AMG: 0-60 mph, 4.5 ; 1/4 mile: 13.0@115.4

As I know, the only car on the market today that is faster under that price is the $76,000 MB E55 AMG.

E 55 AMG: 0-60 mph, 4.2; 1/4 mile: 12.4@116.4
For the E55 AMG, I've seen as fast as 12.2 at 118. Dealers want $80k or more; we paid $96k for ours.

Penforhire-
Ahem! Please don't forget the Z06, Cobra, and Viper. At that price or much lower.
I'm sorry, but our E55 AMG absolutely slaughters an '03 Cobra, pulls on a Z06, and the Viper GTS and RT/10 (1st- and 2nd-gen). All proven. Thus far, the SRT-10 is the only stock Viper that can walk away from the E55 AMG.

Even with 3 passengers, I've pulled on a Gixxer 600 from 50mph all the way to that annoying 155mph governor.

And just for the record, our bone stock E55 AMG put down 440rwhp and 471rwtq on a DynoJet. That's more than our 575M Maranello, rated at 505 crank hp. And believe it or not, the E55 either stays with, or walks away from the Ferrari. I'm positive that if not for the 155mph governor, the Mercedes would pull a healthy lead over the Ferrari at anything above 150mph.

Supposedly, the E55 is less powerful than the SL55 AMG. So, either the E55 has an incredibly efficient drivetrain, or the _55 AMG's are seriously underrated from the factory. I'm guessing the latter.

the E55 is underrated from the factory and has a slightly more restricive exhaust than the SL55.

<dreams of the day when I can afford an S2k, E55, 575 all in the same garage>

snapping out of that, what year GSX-R? If its a new one, I don't know about that...the older ones were significantly slower though, so i don't doubt that at all.

I'm not positive of the specific year, but I'm fairly certain it was at least a '00 or newer. It had the headlights and front fairing intake of the new(er) Gixxer 600s.

We raced from a red light on the feeder of the Beltway (toll road), then onto the Beltway itself. I was driving with my cousins and the two bikes flanked me at the red light and revved it up. They challenged me, believe it or not. It was the GSXR 600 and one of those naked Yamaha 600s - slow.

After the race, I followed them into a gas station and we talked a bit. The Gixxer rider said he wasn't full throttle until 50mph, when he saw I was still with him. From there, "I was wide open and I still couldn't shake you."

The Yamaha didn't stand a chance.

It would take me awhile to get used to that power so low. 738 @2k.
