Default Solstice

Disclaimers:
I think it's not a bad looking car at all. I also realize that, apart from marketing BS, it is not meant to be competitive with the S2000, much less a S/C'd one. Could it, with some additional cash be modified to be competitive in performance? Without a doubt.

On to the story. This Solstice was only the second I've seen on the road, and the first that had plates. The roads were actuallly dry for what seemed like the first time in about 3 months around here.

Out running some errands in an industrial park type area, I pulled up next to the Solstice at a red. Top was up, but windows down on his car. i tried to get driver's attention, to ask him about the car, but he would not look over. Figured that was the end of that. But, just in case, I stayed ready. Sure enough, after rolling out at the green normally, he floors it and as fast as my reaction time could allow, so do I. Ran until the top of 4th, by which time there was no point unless Scotty was about to engage the warp drive on the Solstice. (wild guess: 10 lenghts maybe more?)

I was hoping to maybe talk to the driver THIS time but, apparently, he had to make a right turn into a "NOT A THROUGH STREET" at the next light

I'm going to repeat the disclaimer just in case: Nice looking car. IMO, it's not a "waste of gas" to race any car if I'm going that direction anyway... I just get to my destination sooner. Yes, I know that I probably have around double the peak whp, and that is why I didn't instigate, just responded.

Couldn't agree more! Besides with a new car like the Solstice, we've got to make sure they know the "pecking order".

I think when your S2K is S/C...you tend to forget silly things, like how fast your going

Pecking order, eh? If you had to go by looks alone, the Solstice would be down there with it's brother the Aztec. Ugly.

Nice run...in a way

Don't like the Solstice dashboard and IP design btw. It would be a deal killer if I were in the market for that type of car. Thanks to Honda I will never be

i kinda like the looks of the car - especially the clamshell rear hood and the fact that it hides the top when retracted... i heard pontiac will be offerring a turbo charged version putting out 260hp for '07.

That mallet solstice would probably take our position on the pecking order. Didnt someone on these boards drop a LS1 into a s2000?
