Yeah...what the title says. Strange race.

I'm coasting along when a Gold Wing pulls up next to me. He tells me he likes how my exhaust sounds and asks me about it and who makes it (Invidia w/ TP). We chat for a little bit (he really likes the car) and then the light turns green.

He takes off, I was a little surprised since I wasn't thinking we were going to race, but I go ahead and take off also. I had a low RPM launch so he pulls out a little ahead. As boost kicks in at high rpms I reel him in and we're both about even. I shut down at around 80mph and we still are pretty even at that point. He passes me when I throttle down.

At this point I'm thinking WTH??? A Gold Wing keeping up??? I know it's a MC but I wouldn't think it's a fast one. We pull up at the next light and I find out his bike is a GL1800. For a cruiser it's a quick bike...4.4 0-60 and sub-13 second 1/4.

He was a cool guy and I feel better about the race after checking this bike out more. My mods are InvidiaV3+TP+SoS Stage 2 SC. I've dynoed in the 370RWHP range.

 

ITS A BIKE WHAT DID U THINK LOL WHEN I HAD MY R6 I HAD SO MANY CARS PULL UP TO ME TO RACE IT MIGH HAVE BEEN A R6 BUT I STILL PULLED ON ALOT OF THEM

 

Yeah, I hear you. I've actually had Harley's race me from a roll (they initiated it) and I beat them when NA not SCed. The Harley full-tilt cruisers tend to 0-60 around 5 or more so I thought the Goldwing would be the same. I was wrongo.
