So I'm on my way home...it's a nice day and so the top is down. I get off the highway...not knowing I have a stalker. Take a couple turns then notice this blue miata behind me making some noise.

So I give it a little gas going down a hill and come up to a light where the road turns from one lane to two...one lane is left turn only and I'm in the right turn lane stuck behind a bunch of cars.

The miata pulls up next to me and yells, "aww...come this way" or something to that effect. So I decide ok. We both take a left. He gasses it, I gas it...I hit the rev limiter and in general mess up and see him moving ahead...he couldn't go very far though due to traffic.

So anyways, that's when I noticed the gauges on the side of his windshield. I pull up next to him and yell, "Super??" he's like "No Turbo". So I ask him if he knows someplace with more than one lane...we pick Airport Road...and head on over. We get there...traffic wasn't a problem. He guns it, I gun it..I started behind him but it didn't really matter...I couldn't catch him. Tried real hard but couldn't. He wasn't screaming away...but I definitely lost.

Pull up next to each other after and decided to pull over and chat. He's doing 15psi along with what seemed to be various other standard mods. and getting roughly 240 to the wheels. Pretty cool couple guys who run their own shop...or rather are opening their own shop. They apparently saw me on the highway and decided "We need to take this exit today".

Think they may have a new client My first major loss! unf!

 

dont take it so hard. 240hp to the wheels on a lighter body against an S. glad to see the guy was cool though.

 

Just wait until you mod yours. The Miata with 240 whp is one fast car.

i guess thats cool, but your still driving an s2k, and he is driving a POS miata, i dont think there could be an uglier car... a miniture ugly red headed step child ugly duckling to the rx7.. sheesh!

 

Actually, I've seen some pretty cool looking miata's before. Not all of them are ugly (dude with the 300zx).

Don't you think a pontiac aztek is uglier than a miata?

you are entitled to you opinion. I personally think that your statement is based on lack of knowledge and experience. I may be wrong though. I don't know what you are comparing the Miata to to call it a POS. I especially find it disconcerting to come onto a forum whose car minus the engine is based on damn near the same formula. If you have not taken the time to drive a Miata, do so. I always find it cool to see a S2000 driver humble enough to admit to being beaten by a car that is supposedly "inferior".

Your statement infuriated me but I realized the futility of trying to persuade you over the internet. all that I can ask is that you try to be alot more open minded about sports cars.

I honestly feel that for the consumer, this car is one of the greatest automotive successes that has ever come about.

 

Kamehamaha, that was the double post of all time, lol. I wouldn't be too offended or infuriated. This is a great site and the best place to learn about S2000 issues from what I can tell. You've been around this place for over a year and I've only been lurking here a month or something, but like any forum on the internet in this context there are going to be tools.

Firesauce is stating a subjective opinion so it can't really be wrong...because of that, it's also worthless. I come to places to learn and kid around. People that like cars usually can see something positive in almost any rendition, and, if nothing else don't just come out and say something is a POS or the ugliest thing since Bea Arthur's asshole without proof positive. That is a whole different problem, and thank God my wife makes a ton of money on it. It's called "small penis syndrome" and "waiting for the other ball-to-drop".

Well it was refreshing to see a car with more than body mods. It just seems that around here...nobody makes their cars go faster...just make 'em look faster. These miata people were definitely sports car enthusiasts.

Losing sucks though. I've lost to a vette...that's one thing. I knew it was coming and I provoked it...so I don't even count it But I figured I could beat a miata of any size/shape. Oh the wonders of FI....time to mod.
