Tesla
Top of Skyline drive and 84 is a hangout for Bay Area V-twin folks, knee draggers and car clubs on the weekends. Last Sunday a brand new Tesla was parked there and was drawing the crowd (much to the dismay of the R8 and Ferrari 612 owners that were also pimping their rides there).
Anyway, I was next to the Tesla as he eventually pulled out of the lot. The driver saw what was up when I gave him a nod.
I had him by a front wheel until he actually hit the "gas" took off in a silent whooosh of electrons. Unfortunately, I can only put down about 600W on my road bike in a sprint so despite the weight advantage I was left in the dust. The Tesla sure did seem to move though
I know, not a race. But a buddy of mine (who has an Elise) that was also riding that day was laughing that in a few years when gasoline is 25 bucks a gallon we may be seeing more of these types of encounters.
