fun part about f-body's are that they are underated. LT1 fbods dyno typically 260+rwhp, LS1's 290-300+ rwhp. Top up or top down, wouldnt have made too much of a difference in unequal cars. SRT4 and s2000 is close enough to make that a deciding factor though.

Im stock . To bad the kid in the WS6 was such a clown that he couldn't take the highway merge as fast as I did . Please do not worry, I know that the WS6 is faster in a straight line. Big deal!

top up top down...doesn't matter, I'm willing to bet that losing the 12" sub in the trunk could help make you a little quicker, but who wants to do that

um... top down/top up does matter a great deal the higher the speeds (more drag with the top down), and anyone will say the same on this site.

weight matters less at high speeds also...

ok no offense but the guy if it was a ws6 and a 6spd was prolly in 5th or 6th beacuse i just traded in my 00 ss camaro with full exhaust intake maf throtle body lots of goodies on my ss and i took a 97 nsx by 2 cars on the highway from 70-135mph and mine was an auto so if it was a modded ws6 it would have killed u i beat a 400 horse wrx with sti parts upgrade turbo all kinds of stuff on the highway beat a tt supra thats my friends by a car that has upgraded turbos theres not really too many cars that can hang with ls1's on the highway is what i had come to find out im not talking trash either cuz i have an s2k now and i no not to even think of racing an ls1 powered fbody now if it was an 97 ws6 u prolly could have beat it with top upsince they have no top end compared to the ls1

ohh and my ss had slp factory options so it was 335 horse the w26 is a option vehicle u just pay a little more when u order one and they would make it that way and all it is is a handling package and a lil diff mufflers so they are just a lil faster than the regular t/a

well granted the slp options u got make the car look nicer, being faster than a normal LS1 isnt really the fact. Little different rear section exhaust might gain u 5hp but wouldnt bet on it. Only thing i would buy the slp stuff for is the suspension and the heavy duty rear diff. What made u go from the SS to the s2? better handling? fun to drive? just curious

better handling more fun to drive no more bending god damn pushrods and i had an auto but it hit 2 many rpms racing at the strip a couple of times i loved my camaro but then after i had to replace pushrods a few times i said good bye too it and hello to a car with technology cuz 9000 rpms is a whole lot more fun than 5500 rpms
