Took the Z06 to the strip.
Busy weekend........................most of it sucked.
Friday night, got pulled hard by a buddies BPU Supra. 18psi, HKS EBC, downpipe, intake, exhaust and an FMIC. Doh.
Saturday, put the vararam on. Holy cats, this thing actually works!
Then I went to the strip.
First run was a squirrely 13.09 at 114. Car scared me a little on the top end, the right lane seemed to be a little slippery. I noticed through the night that the guys in the right lane were getting pretty crossed up, so I stuck to the left lane.
Next two runs I forgot to turn the AH/TC off, so I let out after it bogged me down. Lol. 14.3 at 70mph!
Third run was a 13.2 @ 112. Doh. More 60 foot trauma. The car simply would not hook in first, and I was shifting second too hard, and breaking loose completely.
Fianl run of the night (forgot to take a helmet, so I had to keep borrowing and swapping, so it was getting annoying..........I HAD a ******* 12 locked up, until I tagged the rev limiter in third! 13.009@115. shoite!!!!!
Verdict: THe car is strong, especially with the vararam. I need to learn to get the 60's down to something reasonable. Next time I will play with tire pressures. Given the 60's (2.25, 2.3, etc), I think the car is easily capable of 12 flat or thereabouts with a good set of DRs, and some traction. Two of my friends went 12.0 at 120 on DRs, with a cam and a few other things. A guy with an intake, x-pipe, and DRs was clicking off 12.5s, but his mph was slower than mine.

Do not race a modified Supra from a roll.
Get them from a stop.
But very nice traps!
Nope. Sac raceway.
The supra is a friends car. Its a very healthy, well maintained BPU and a front mount. He put down 380rwhp, 430rwtq in warm weather. His car must have picked up a decent amount of power with the cold air we had that night.
Nevertoofast, a vararam is a ram air intake for the corvette. Its an interesting setup, and claims to actually "make boost" above 60 mph due to its configuration. While I dont know about that, the car definitely feels a lot stronger on the top end than before, so maybe theres some truth to it. People say its good for 2 tenths in the 1/4.
