Well, i was on my way to get a coffee at 6am in the morning(on a saturday) and a grand prix gtp pulls up beside me, revs his engine and guns it.. I decide, why not and proceed to put 1.5-2 lengths on him from 70-120(km/h) and thought that was that.

I go on my way, pull into the parking lot too see that the drive thrus is always packed. So i parked my car, went inside and about to order my coffee. As i was ordering the GTP owner came inside pissed right off and demanded a rematch from a stop(keep in mind i have 255/30-19's on and there is no slip even from launching at redline), saying that he will smoke my piece of shit from a stop anyday. Keep in mind there is a line up of people behind me and i'm paying the cashier at the exact moment. I tell him i proved my point and there will be no rematch, so he mumbles something under his breath and storms out of the store.

Cliffnotes: Dont smoke crack, and drive a gtp.

 

What made him think he would have killed you from a stop, the fwd or the 3500lb curb weight? lol

btw, what a dumbass he was for making a scene over it in front of a bunch of people in the store.

 

You should of said "Dude, you got smoked so end of story"... After you'd paid the cashier and walk out, you should of said "I like your viper dawg"...

I apologize on behalf of that douchebag, not all of us GM owners are tools.

 

Most of the GTP's have 2x as much torque at 2000 rpm as an S2000 has peak... that's why some of them get cocky from a stop. A good friend of mine did a L67 swap into an early 90's Lumina and put down 250 whp and roughly 320 lb-ft or torque with a virtually stock motor... Hopefully next time the guy's a better sport. Some of those guys are pretty baised against imports and think they're all slow- they're the ones we don't let in on the secrets of turbos! Most of the GM FWD guys around here are pretty cool though. If anybody made a scene like that after losing a quick race, I don't know if I'd laugh or just feel sorry for them...

I also came to the conclusion he was "possibly" drunk, it was afterall 6 am and look like he was up after a bender..

Win or lose, i dont even care. i can be the first to admit the s2k is not the fastest car but it makes me happy. But in no way will i ever pursue someone into a public facility asking them to race, thats just well ridiculous IMHO.
