I went to the track this past Friday night. An organization called Racelegal.com holds 1/8 mile events at Qualcomm Stadium every now and then. This was the second time I have taken the S to the track. I am not sure if the track preps sucked, or if it was my driving skills and/or car setup, but I could not gain traction for crap.

First run: me vs. swapped Civic hatch

I launched around 5K and spun pretty bad.

Second run: me vs. Mustang GT

I launched around 3K and my 60' time sucked!

Fourth run: me vs. turbo eclipse

I launched around 4K and spun pretty bad. I ran a 9.1 as compared to the Eclipse's 8.9.

Fifth run: me vs. Integra

I launched at 3K, hooked-up pretty well, but my 60' ft sucked.

I got spanked! I was nervous, launched around 4K, spun to redline and simply got whooped! I ran a 9.3 as compared to the GT's 7.5!

Seventh run: me vs. swapped Civic

I launched at 3200, hooked up pretty well, but again my 60' sucked.

I launched at 3200...same old story.

My best run of the night had a 2.2 60' and 9.01 @ 80 1/8. My mods are in my sig. I won't be doing to the track again until I get some DRs.

me too. maybe you're not releasing the clutch fast enough? i hear that you should launch at about 5.8K

Was the track really slick or something? You should be launching higher then 3k.. Maybe rev higher but feather the gas after dumping the clutch to gain better traction.. But with a 3000 launch your still 3000 away from vtec.

 

Dude, most 1/8th mile tracks that I have been to SUCK when it comes to track prep. Don't get down on yourself, most likely you will do much better at a nicer track. Launching at 4500, you shouldn't spin pretty bad, even with your mods. Try a nicer track (1/4) and see what happens

 

I am side-stepping the clutch just fine when launching. I don't think that is the issue.

 

I did attempt to feather the gas, and I ended up with 2.4 60's!

Did you ever get dynoed? That's a nice set of mods you got there. Oh... and how do you like the EMS on the 06?
