Don't mind me guys, I get hot-headed when someone flames me for whatever reason.
I think I used some poor examples of the RX7 topic but I've owned the FC turbo for 4 years and the FD for 5 months (due to lack of time and resources to fix it up).
What I want to make clear is the comparison of a turbo and a N/A car is stupid, unless you're trying for example to compare the difference with upgrading one to F/I specs.
The FD when I acquired it was stock but the previous owner complained about how the gas mileage sucked therefore it got expensive to own it amongst other things. I found out later that the Apex seals were blown due to detonation. I took the opportunity to upgrade the seals with 3mm ones and that worked great. Making a call to PFS led me to a standalone system that helped make the car more manageable and more adaptable to our hot and humid climate, not to forget our poor 92 oct premium gas. An all aluminum Fluidyne radiator, new brakes and pads and new bushings made the car feel good as new. We could have put in 89 octane fuel and the standalone would have compensated for it before any pinging would occur according to PFS but we didn't.
Comparing a 1986 made car is unfair to one from 2003? Okay, then you might understand why I feel compared boosted vs. N/A is along the same line. That's all I'm trying to say.
No apologies needed SHIRI... I have those days too. All in all, drive the car you like.
I know the RX-line have been superb handling machines, no argument there and I know first hand from the FC and FD (I like the FC due to less weight). I've yet to drive the new 8 tho.
That pic of the Toyota dash was cool, and I've never seen it before. The S2000 and the AE86 dash in that pic may have been inspired by the same goal, the F1 appearance. I recall the Chrysler Laser also having a digital readout dash around the same time as the AE85/AE86.

LOL this thread is going nowhere!
I have nothing against a S2000, in fact have many friends and people in our car club who drive them. It's a nice ride that deserves props. I'm sure that the VAST majority of people on this forum also have equivalent respect for the rx-7. So let's leave the nitpicking aside and just live along peacefully.
It's only dillholes like the chump CALPILOT7, who are the rare exceptions.
It's very clear that this guy is real bitter towards rx-7s for some reason. Perhaps he got his a@@ handed to him bad by one?? That's my best guess of why he'd make such an idiot out of himself. Perhaps a 14 year old keyboard racer who needs to enroll in some ESL classes?
But really....this just says it all:
